The Republican Party formed 1854 to say NO to the Democrats' oppressive policies. 2 pro slavery Democrat candidates ran against Republican Abraham Lincoln; in the North; Stephen Douglas (Pro slavery-anti secession) in the South; John C Breckenridge (pro slavery-pro secession).When “the South” seceded; it was Dems who left Congress. Alexander Stephens, VP of the Confederacy said that “Science” shows that Blacks are inferior to whites & should naturally be slaves. The Democrats opposed the 13th, 14th & 15th amendments giving slaves freedom & full citizen & VOTING rights. After the civil war, former slaves registered/voted Republican. Democrats lost elections. Republicans established the Freedman’s Bureau (Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands) providing clothing, food, supplies, medicine & LAND to freed slaves to overcome their immediate disadvantage & help them join every other freedom loving, hardworking, equally able citizen on equal course in America. It was a hand UP to join America’s free market. Former slaves won seats in local, state & Federal government as Republicans. Democrats were angered that they were out voted & it gave birth to the Klan who lynched (KILLED) & Intimidated black & white voters (Republicans). (4800 Blacks, 1300 whites lynched). (Any black was a target. Photo cards identified white Repubs.) Where Dems held power, they banned gun ownership by blacks & mulattos, confiscated guns & made “gun free zones”, giving the klan no resistance. (The FIRST Democrat Gun Ban!) They moved Election Day poll places in black neighborhoods & ran difficult tests to deny blacks voting rights. President Woodrow Wilson (D) segregated government, military & post office & was president as the 1st film was shown in the White house (pro Klan film called Birth of a nation). Rosa Parks refused to comply with the Democrats’ Jim Crowe laws. Democrats like George Wallace opposed integration in the south & said “Segregation today, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever”. President Eisenhower (R)sent the National Guard south to defend blacks from Democrats. Democrat & George Wallace supporter James Earl Ray shot Dr Martin Luther King. Lyndon Johnson (D) as Senate Majority leader blocked & watered down Eisenhower's (R) civil rights bills. Johnson signed Republican ideas as president under great racial tension & pressure, but his Democrat majority greatly opposed the civil rights bills! The Republican minority gave the passing votes. Democrats now imply that the racist history was Republican. (Joe Biden marching at Selma? A CON!) Dems call ANYONE defending Constitutionally LIMITED government racist & VIOLENT! A new lie says the parties switched places in the sixties! NO SALE! Margaret Sanger (anti Catholic, racist abortion advocate/ matriarch of planned parenthood) is still a Democrat icon. The Dem Party is the same big gov't collective it’s always been. Woodrow Wilson (Prohibition, income tax starter) advanced government healthcare, as did Truman, Clinton & Obama. The people said NO! Under Obama, Democrats called opponents racists & passed it. They’ve been trying to force socialism for over 120 years. Wilson & FDR set up internment camps for US citizens INSIDE the USA. FDR set mandatory price fixing & imprisoned non compliers. Obamacare is new oppression. They are STILL trying to ban guns. Democrat Party, How about if you “change”. Anybody remember liberty?
