I call BS on this one

A retired lawmaker remains on the same insurance plan upon retirement. A change for current lawmakers will be the same for retirees whether they retire now or later. Most are 65 or older anyway so they will be covered under medicare as primary with their insurance becoming secondary so a cheap supplemental policy is all that is required.
