I think the left might actually want Trump

Trump isn't a right winger.  That we know.  He keeps dealing from the bottom of the deck with this building-a-wall business.  Building a wall doesn't solve anything, even if it did happen.  The problem is the Mexican government.  Corruption.  

This is the only issue I really know about this guy, who probably thinks all our consumer grade grievances are pretty petty from where he stands.  If he wanted to make this country truly great, as he says, you'd think he would allude, at least, to a plan to bring back the gold standard.  

Another thing I seem to be noticing is he has a way of making listeners believe he said something when he didn't.  Business people do it all the time.  It's the reason we have detailed contracts and lawyers to verify what those damn things actually mean.

I'm not a free trade guy.  Not one iota.  We should only be trading with nations which have the same economic conditions and social conditions as we have.  Because buying from nations which don't trade goods to us at the same prices our own people are making similar products is what got us into this economic morass in the first place.  

I see Trump looking at the presidency as the opportunity to achieve the greatest world altering business deals of his lifetime.  It's really the only summit left [for him] to reach.  

The truth is, we all think about things based upon the thoughts most in the forefronts of our lives.  For one it's business minded, another sees everything in terms of the hunter's view.  Yet a third frames everything in terms of social justice or injustices.  Trump's views aren't social.  They aren't moral in the way others relate to that word.  

But here's another thing.  I've never heard of Trump being accused of being immoral or anything other than boorish.  

He believes in state health care and I heard, agrees with banning certain guns.  Neither I agree with.

And at the rate he's going, he might influence public and national policy even before (if) he goes through the election processes.

Mike, thanks for the Zerohedge read. What a great bit of information. You ask some important questions and I may be naïve to believe it, but I think once the market reacts, it would be with a different kind of leverage. Cabals and cartels always succeed until some other entity builds a strong counter balance. It's like greenspan bubbles; the market runs to them if the potential of making more money is stronger. And the markets are designed to be fluid. Gold's interest becomes stale if there appears to be quicker ways to overcome slower growth. I say bring it back, let the hedge fund managers handle their world and allow everyday investors provide them the incomes to work the biased and manipulated markets. I doubt that on the world stage, there is anything which isn't manipulated. The reality is they own the game and the rest of us play along under their rules. It's what we all do with our retirement funds as it is.
