Things change with the Wind and Politics...
In 2010, Obama said at a Republican retreat that Ryan had "made a serious proposal" with his budget. Obama criticized the idea of giving "vouchers" for Medicare, but acknowledged the need to address the deficit spending that Medicare and Medicaid fuel.
Romney, though, is pointing most prominently to Ryan's work with Oregon Sen. Ron Wyden to make the case that Ryan is more bipartisan than he's made out to be by Democrats.
Ryan and Wyden late last year drafted a new proposal for Medicare -- tweaking Ryan's old plan by offering seniors a choice between government-subsidized private insurance and regular Medicare.
"One of the things I like about Paul Ryan is he's demonstrated over his years there an ability to work across the aisle to find people who have common purpose who may disagree on some issues but find enough common ground to get things done," Romney said Monday. "And, for instance, him coming together with a plan to save Medicare for future generations, no change to current Medicare beneficiaries or people near retirement but for future beneficiaries, he and Sen. Wyden have come together. This is the kind of bipartisanship we need more of, not less."

Ryan is realistic
changes need to be made...and they may hurt...That is just a fact of life. Change is difficult at best...but in times like these and in as much debt that we have..we have to do something ..Lets just hope that what ever we do is more tought out than obama care was.

Exactly right Ron....
Cuts will hurt but neccessary in these times. Medicade and Medicare are long overdue for an overhaul, waste and Fraud are rampant, because the Gov. in running it. Private sector for profit will keep a better check and savings will fund more than the cut. The scare tatic Obama is spreading is explained good in my post as bull$hit. More Money is always the answer to a problem with this administration, it seems.
We spend more per Pupil than any country on Education and it still hasn't helped, but Liberals scream for more. Lets try holding Parents responsible for the Kids work and displine at school, instead of more money!
I can't understand how people that see the problems Liberal European countries are having don't reflect on what our future will be if we follow Obama and the Liberal path in Gov. entitlements and spending.
