A piece of history Empty With a lifetime of shooting behind me

Post  DonMatzeder Fri Feb 07, 2014 9:41 am

I have handled the M1 more than any other weapon. From the age of 15 in the ROTC at my high school, through college, and even in basic training in the Army we carried the M1. Late in basic training, they handed us the M14 to shoot and qualify with. The battle weapon at the time was the M16 but I never shot one. Was never issued an M16 while I was in the service even though I was in until 71. The only thing better for long range would be a National Match 308 but those have a lot more special work done to them.
