I have always valued this holiday !!! but anymore our country is in ruin.... I fear for this once great nation. The socialist progressive agenda is destroying this country from within.

but it is getting harder. The other day the media was crowing about Obama's approval rating going up to 50% approval after the two scotus decisions. How sick is that.

I want all to have a great day along with being as safe as we can be. It is a sad time when I feel that the 4th of July no longer brings happiness  that it did in years past.

C'mon, guys.  There's a point of no return.  Just as there was in Germany.  We passed it.  Just as they had in Germany.    But the point of no return isn't the populace, it's the politics of government control.  Now, you can call it socialism or communism or some other kind of "ism" but they're all essentially the same.   The people who run politics have become convinced the societies over which they've been given the responsibility to manage, are theirs to control.

There isn't a huge battle for power.  It's really a very small one.  The left fights to make the right feel as if that battle is monstrous.  Politically correct speech.  Gay rights.  The confederate flag.  It all comes down to people willingly bowing down to what...?  Public pressure.  Why?  Because the majority are weak.  Because they forgot the basic tenets of freedom; that being free, one must expect to be as equally hated as respected.  That one's opinionated words ought to fall equally upon deaf ears as upon those who might listen. Probably moreso the former.  

Ironically, the left ignores the basic principle, the right to free speech with the equal right to ignore what's been said.   Imagine how hard it must be to hold to a faith which science and the recorded history of human experience have both nullified under critical questioning.  

Global warming.  Socialism.  Communism.  Free trade.  Formerly precious metals backed currency.  The idea that any kind of thing or action where it takes the efforts of a human being to produce it in some way, can be offered to other human beings without just payment to the first, determined by a free capitalist market, is theft.  

If you read about the victories in our gun laws these last several years, as proven and fought for by our friends the Gun Owners of America (GOA), you'd realize we're not losing as much as many would like you to believe.  

I've noticed something crucial in life.  The successful people all win it by positive attitude.  In fact, I've taken that tact myself and it really does work.  I work in retail.  I don't complain. I do the job and good things keep coming to me.   I keep a positive attitude and my bosses confide in me.  I don't share what they say and I learn things.  Important things.  I point out the positive in people's lives, not the negative.

I know the people who are chronically negative.  I recognize those with seemingly nefarious personality traits.  I say as little to them as possible, but I don't ignore them.  And truthfully, a little complaining is normal and natural.  It's often best to listen and nod and move on with your day.  And let them have theirs.  

Positive attitude made this country.  Moving forward to find a place to worship God freely in spite of the mountain of problems those people faced just to get here.  And then discovering socialism would fail those first few years, they again moved their views into the realm of reality; that each individual has property rights and can only succeed if unimpaired by community assistance.  

It is never a government which makes the nation great.  It is the people.  It is the people who decide whether to rely upon themselves or a government.  And they do it on their own terms once they realize they are their own provocation.  That if one is carried, one never learns to walk.  Walking under one's own power is a person's first taste of real freedom.

Listen closely.  This nation cannot be a nation of leaders.   That isn't how society works.  Most are followers because that is what they choose to be (except they don't realize that's what they've chosen).  They listen to others and this is also what our media banks on; that if you put a story all over the social media, it seems like a much bigger story than it really is.

Social engineers crave control.  Through media which they hope passes for education.  And government representatives need reasons to present to voters to get those voters to vote for them, so they show off social engineering initiatives.  Well, no one wants to think they voted for people who just sit around doing nothing while a well designed government runs by itself (so long as people stop touching it).  Dumb people don't concern themselves with long term consequences.  But that's the world we live in in every generation.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.  And then it crashes.  And then society rebuilds from the ashes, why?  Because somebody survived the cycle.  That somebody, or I should say, those somebodies are going to work toward success from the right attitude.

I am not a negative thinker Harv !! I also am not delusional either. I see what I see and it is what it is. The word says you know that little book we call the bible (GASP) say that in the end times evil will appear as good and Good will appear as evil... I am just paying attention... no more and no less... when one in truly paying attention one tends to get disgruntled it does not mean we stop fighting...

Hi Ron,

Most people are negative. They just don't see it. If you listen to a person's speech, their conversational tone, you can hear it. Just as the vast majority of postings on this site refer to the problems rather than the victories. Because after all, victories are problems overcome, aren't they.

I'm also convinced most people really are delusional. They look at some part of a situation or problem without remembering that that problem isn't new just because it's happened to them, in their generation. It's happened countless times in the past. And they fail to observe the past to learn how that problem was dealt with; was it resolved by conscious effort? Was it something which worked itself out over time? What were the results of the problem? Did the problem evoke action or education? Was the problem really a dark aspect of human nature, en route to a cyclical pattern passed forward from one generation to the next?

The most important thing I intend to convey is this: There is nothing new under the sun. So learn the past in order to understand the present and have a pretty good idea where the immediate future is heading.

And stop complaining that your freedom isn't perfect. No one's freedom ever was. At least we have national and state documents that give us tools to protect and earn back some of that freedom when the social engineering "progressives" overstep everyone's natural rights.
